Belief …
Wow, what a powerful word!
Most of us have an idea of its meaning, but do you really know the power it holds over our life experience?
I remember sitting on a Speaker Panel at a conference, where I was invited to speak to a room full of medical providers. I was up to speak just after a cardiologist who had just finished showing a PowerPoint presentation showing numbers and statistics for developing heart disease, where he ended his talk telling the audience about his numbers and saying “Seeing is believing.”
It was then my turn to speak, and the opening words that came from my mouth in an instant were the polar opposite. Unexpectedly I said , ‘Believing is Seeing is my business. And then I went on to say that it was Gandhi who said, “We see the world not as IT is, but as we are,” according to our believing.
Ghandi was a man, one man, that had the belief that he could change an entire political system and then went on to set an entire nation free … from his believing power.
This was an unrehearsed opening, but I knew that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show up with a bigger believing power for my audience, I had an obligation to and the people I serve.
What I have come to learn and see in working with hundreds of people and a decade of studying success principles and the subconscious mind, is that we “out-picture” all of our subconscious beliefs.
And what I also knew in that moment, was that statistics apply to groups of people, and that YOU ARE NOT A STATISTIC. And unless you see yourself as a statistic, then know that you have a believing power in you that is far greater than a number.
Remember Roger Banister? And that he became famous after breaking the limit of running the 4-minute mile. For centuries, scientists believed that it was impossible for a human to run a mile in under 4 minutes. But in 1954, Banister believed it was possible – and he did it.
Once this happened, a new paradigm emerged, and 37 other runners went on to break the same record in that same year!
What this tells us is that we are only limited by our ability and willingness to believe that IT is possible…whatever IT is.
What we believe about our own self-image has an incredible impact on what we can achieve and become.
As the author Richard Bach put it, … “We are never given a dream or an idea for something, without also being given the power to make it come true.”
I invite you today, to try on a bigger believing… in yourself, for what you believe is possible for your life…
Let me know how I can help, support you in developing your Bigger Believing Power to make the changes and have results you would love to experience in your life.
Believing in you,
